\u201c I am present in front of anyone who has faith in me, just as the moon casts its reflection, effortlessly, in any vessel filled with water\u201d \u2013 Guru Pamasambhava<\/g>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is Padmasambhava? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nmost common name of Guru Padmasambhava is Guru Rinpoche meaning, “precious\nmaster”. He was not gradually enlightened; rather he was already\nenlightened because he was the reincarnation of Buddha Shakyamuni an\nenlightened being. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buddha\nShakyamuni predicted the birth of Padmasambhava or his Mahaparinirvana in\nMahaparinirvana Sutra and to his students those who were present at that time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\nsaid, “Eight years after my mahaparinirvana, a remarkable being with the\nname Padmasambhava will appear in the center of a lotus and reveal the highest\nteaching concerning the ultimate state of the true nature, bringing great\nbenefit to all sentient beings.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\nalso said that Padmasambhava would be attaining high enlightenment state and he\nwill be much more enlightened than Buddha Shakyamuni is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Padmasambhava’s Importance to Bhutan: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Padmasambhava\ncame to Bhutan in 746 A.D. He has spread Buddhism in Bhutan with his teachings.\nGuru Padmasambhava has won the hearts of Bhutanese people after taming the\ndemon residing in Tiger’s Nest Monastery and converting it into a spiritual\none. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\nthis manner, he has done many miracles and saved the Bhutanese from expecting\nevils. The people of Bhutan consider Padmasambha to be their savior and guide.\nHe is like God to them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though\nhe was a Rinpoche, he has gained his own importance through this work and love.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
